Use Information
ESRI software is available for departmental and educational use only through a site license from the MSU Tech Store. This is an annual license that expires February 28, 2023. All licenses must be renewed at this time.
An online version of ArcGIS (ArcOnline) can be found at no cost by visiting https://msugis.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html . If students would like to download a desktop copy of ArcGIS Pro at no cost, they need to log in with their NetID and navigate the following steps:
- Click their NetID in the upper right corner
- Click my settings
- Click Licenses
- Scroll to the bottom to download the desktop version of ArcGIS Pro

You have the choice of installing the licenses on stand alone machines or running the licenses concurrently through a server.

Installation Information
Purchase a license for ESRI (annual renewal). Your receipt is your proof of license.
Activation code and media is provided by the MSU Tech Store via email upon receipt of order.
Media
Media for is provided as a download.
Versions 10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 are compatible with Windows 7, and Windows 8 and Windows 10.
