NVivo Installation and Use Information

Use Information

Departments are able to purchase NVivo software through a site license from the MSU Tech Store. All licenses will expire October 30th, 2023, and must be renewed at that time. If you do not choose to renew, you must uninstall the program and stop using the program. These licenses are not returnable.

Accessibility Information

People with disabilities may have difficulty using NVivo successfully, as it does not comply, in full or in part, with section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act; that is to say, it is not considered accessible. Please work with the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, (517) 353-3922 inclusion@msu.edu , to accommodate users with disabilities. Based on the way you plan to use this software, you may also be asked to develop an Equally Effective Alternative Access Plan that should:

  • accommodate the affected population of visual-, hearing-, motor-, and learning-impaired individuals, among others;
  • identify the individual responsible for providing the alternative;
  • describe how the alternative access will be provided;
  • outline any kind of arrangement and timeline with the manufacturer or developer of the product to make their product accessible.
You may also visit webaccess.msu.edu for more information.
